Quick Description: This journal is an Assassin's Creed alternate universe for the character Thor Odinson, from the Marvel comic books.

What is Assassin's Creed: Ubisoft created the video game Assassin's Creed in which the Brotherhood of Assassin's is established. They are a nebulous organization pitted against the Templars, a secret organization bent on enslaving the world and garnering themselves power through the use of artifacts called Apples of Eden. The assassins live by the Creed, a set of rules that dictate their moral code and methods.

Who is Thor Odinson: Thor is the God of Thunder in Norse mythology, adapted to the Marvel world of comic books. He also features in the recent major movies Thor and The Avengers, however this version of Thor is not the one used for this AU.

Why the comic book version/why a doctor: The inspiration for using the doctor assassin as Thor's persona comes from the arc wherein Thor is sent to earth and becomes a doctor, for ten years he practices medicine on earth under an assumed name.

What time period this AU is from: Renaissance Italy.

What does dottore mean: Il dottore is Italian for "the doctor," Thor's profession and Assassin guise.

Does your AU know about the OU Thor: No, for the purposes of this character he is all inclusive and has no secret/hidden/destroyed memories of at one time being any Asgardian god.

Character Vitals:
Age: 26
Height: 6'4"
Build: Medium build, very toned, but not bulky.
Abilities: Advanced medical knowledge for his time, able to heal minor wounds, bone breaks, ease pain, some dental work, relieve some bacteria/virus infections. Very knowledgeable of poisons (his assassination technique of choice), also able to craft smoke bombs, portable medicine vials/pouches, blending in with a crowd, freerunning/parkour, hand-to-hand combat, throwing knives, knife fighting.

Character Background:
Thor was born to Odin and Frigga, first generation Scandinavian immigrants who found their home in Italy. Unbeknownst to Thor this was due to the Brotherhood of Assassins sending Odin to Italy to provide additional assistance to that Templar active area. Thor was raised alongside his adopted brother Loki, whose history Thor was never made aware of. So far as he knew, Loki was of Italian decent and an orphan whom Odin and Frigga took in as their own child. While Thor was intelligent, Loki was far more clever. Where Thor was strong, Loki was far more agile. The two boys complimented each other well, and Thor loved his brother more than any other. His childhood was not idyllic as Odin was very short on temper and with his own skewed wisdom but he was happy and mostly well-adjusted.

It was therefore a very hard blow to Thor when Loki left so suddenly from their home in Venice. After that, Odin had taught Thor much of the Brotherhood's ways. He learned how to blend with a crowd, knew never to slay an innocent, and most importantly never to compromise the Brotherhood he was being brought into. Thor was taught how to kill discriminantly and effectively and while he had no choice but to become an Assassin like his father, he chose a profession all his own to rebel against his father in his own way.  It was also partly to ease his conscience over what he was being trained to do: Thor began learning the science of healing and became one of the dottore of Venice. To help hide his identity he also took up one of the iconic plague masks that many of the doctors chose to wear.

With his own income, full status as an Assassin, and his own identity Thor moved out of his parents home and now lives in Venice, hoping for word from his brother.
